Today was meant to be a day off, but rather than have a lie in, I decided to get up early and get down to Seacombe for a shot of the Liverpool skyline at sunrise.
I knew the sun would be rising far to the right of the Three Graces, so hoped this would be a good opportunity to get some dramatic coloured skies.
Unfortunately, it was so cloudy when I got there that you could barely see the smallest hint of colour in the sky. A bit of a disappointment really, but better than nothing of course!
I just missed the Mersey Ferry combing into Seacombe Ferry Terminal, but was there to capture it whilst it sailed across to the Pier Head. I kept the aperture at f11 in the dim light in order to keep the high depth of field, whilst also, experimenting with the ‘artistic’ movement blur of the Ferry.
