I ventured down to the Albert Dock just after 4:30pm this afternoon, just as the sun was setting.
This is a great photographic location as the buildings are lit up nicely and the sun sets just behind them over the River Mersey.
Unfortunately, there were lots of Fire Engines and other Emergency vehicles parked right where I was wanting to shoot, with their blue sirens flashing (I later found out that someone had been rescued from the Mersey), so I had to alter my plans and look for other shots.
I’ve been wanting to get some Christmas themed images of Liverpool for the past few years so used this as an opportunity to shoot a Christmas Tree and its lights against the backdrop of the City’s most famous building, the Royal Liver Building.
