A Drive Through Foolow, in the Derbyshire Dales

We were travelling to see family in South Yorkshire today so decided to drive there the long way around and take in some new scenery.

We’d normally travel between Manchester and Sheffield via the Woodhead Pass, but today, we headed south towards Buxton, and turning off through Chapel-en-le-Frith. We then drove towards Castleton and stopped at Mam Tor.

There were great views to be had here, but unfortunately, the wind was too much to hold the camera steady, and certainly too windy to get a good image on the tripod. We had beautiful views towards Castleton and Edale, and will certainly return to this location at a future date.

We carried on through the Derbyshire Dales, along the A623, and through a small parish named Foolow. It was around this time that we stopped the car to take some photos of the drystone walls that covered the fields across the landscape. It really was a beautiful rural scene, reminding us very much of similar locations in North Yorkshire.
